Telegram voice message to text

A four-minute voice message from a colleague, a round video note from a friend, an audio reply in a family chat. There is no time to listen, no headphones at hand, or you simply read faster than people talk. The Voicepad bot turns a voice message into text in about a minute, without leaving Telegram.

Three steps

  1. Open @Voicepad_bot and tap Start. There is no sign-up, a Telegram account is enough.
  2. Forward the voice message or video note from any chat to the bot, or record a new one right in the chat with the bot.
  3. About a minute later the text arrives with timestamps. If more than one person spoke, the lines are labelled Speaker 1 and Speaker 2.
Under every transcript there are buttons: Summary, Tasks, Question (ask anything about the recording), Article, Post, and export to DOCX, TXT and SRT. For a one-minute voice message the text itself is usually enough, but when someone talks through a list of things to do, the Tasks button turns it into a checklist.

Voice messages in a group chat

Add the bot to the chat. Voice messages and video notes up to three minutes long are transcribed automatically for everyone, nobody has to forward anything. Under longer recordings and under video links a button appears, and each member opens the full transcript in a private chat with the bot, so the group stays clean. Every chat gets 30 free minutes a month. If automatic transcription gets in the way in a particular chat, an admin switches it off with /mute.

Languages and accuracy

The language is detected automatically, English and Russian work best, and a message that mixes the two is handled too. Recognition runs on ElevenLabs Scribe v2: in our test on a Russian clip with technical terms it made about half as many mistakes as Whisper-based bots. The result still depends on the recording. A voice message from a quiet room comes out almost clean, one recorded on a windy street or in a car will have a few guessed words.

Pricing and commands

15 minutes every month are free, which is roughly thirty ordinary voice messages. The free plan includes the summary and one question per recording. Packs: 60 minutes for 199 RUB, 300 for 690 RUB, 1000 for 1990 RUB, minutes never expire, paid by any bank card in the browser through Tribute with the /buy command. /history shows your last ten transcripts, /delete removes them, /help explains the rest.

FAQ

Is it free?

Yes, 15 minutes of recordings a month at no cost, no card, no sign-up.

Does it work with round video notes?

Yes. Forward a video note the same way as a voice message and you get the same text with timestamps.

Can I transcribe a voice message from a group the bot is not in?

Yes, forward it to the bot in a private chat. If voice messages are a daily thing in that group, adding the bot there is simpler.

What if the message is half English, half Russian?

Mixed speech is recognised. The language is detected automatically, no settings needed.

Where do old transcripts go?

/history lists the last ten. /delete removes your transcripts when you no longer need them.
